School of Advanced Studies in Physical Activity and Health
The “School of Advanced Studies in Physical Activity and Health” is an in-person academic event promoted by the Graduate Program in Physical Education (PPGEF) of the Sports Center (CDS) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). The event will be conducted entirely in English and is financially supported by the CAPES-PRINT/UFSC Institutional Program.
The PPGEF/UFSC is considered an academic program of excellence, rated 7, the highest possible grade in the National Graduate System of Brazil. Promoting internationalization is a priority for the program.
The event will bring together academics, researchers, students, and professionals in Physical Activity and related fields. With the participation of internationally renowned research professors, this event offers a unique opportunity for academic exchange and in-depth exploration of crucial topics for the development of evidence-based health practices.
The event will provide a platform for discussing topics such as global monitoring and surveillance of physical activity in children and adolescents, urban mobility through physical activity, theories and models for behavior change in physical activity, the development of physical activity measurement instruments, and community health promotion programs. The exchange of knowledge and experiences among participants and speakers can generate new ideas and strategies applicable in their respective fields.
The event will take place from September 23, 2024, to September 27, 2024, at the PPGEF/UFSC Auditorium, located in the CDS/UFSC administrative building in Florianópolis, SC, Brazil.
The target audience will consist of undergraduate and graduate students, Physical Education professionals, and related fields interested in the interrelation between physical activity and health. The event is not restricted to UFSC students and faculty; it is open to the public!
